Adopt-A-Child - Kristan Pelizarro & Vicki Fursy
Nov. 2010. Coordinating cookie and pie sales in November in order to raise funds for holiday gift shopping for South School families in need.
Box Tops for Education
Clip and save Box tops from all General Mills Products. Our school receives ten cents for each box top submitted.
(Donations may be placed in the PTO Box located in the main office.)
Career Day - Tracy Connolly
January 20, 2011. A fun day for students and parents!! Coordinate parent volunteers to speak in the classrooms about their jobs and careers offering the students guidance for what fields they may be interested.
South School Day at CoCo Key - Denise Colbert
March 10, 2011. A fun March night at an indoor water park to help beat the winter blues!! Tickets are $20 and are offered to South School students and their families. our school receives a percentage of ticket sales.
Mom and Friends Night Out - Denise Colbert
November 7, 2010. We will be having a fundraiser at Prince Restaurant/Giggles for South School Moms and her friends. A Pizza and Comedy Show where our school receives a percentage of ticket sales.
Cell Phone Collection
Donate old cell phones to earn money for our school. (Donations may be placed in the PTO Box located in the main office.)
Copying Program
Help teachers with daily copying. Volunteers can choose a day and time.
Halloween Dance - CHAIR NEEDED
October 29, 2010. Set up and break down of parties. Coordinate snack tables, raffle tables and crafts tables.
Donation Committee - CHAIR NEEDED
School Year 2010-2011. Coordinate donations that we can raffle off at our Halloween Dance and other events we have throughout the year. This committee is very important; the more donations we receive the more funds we can raise for our school.
Barnes and Noble Book Fair - CHAIR NEEDED
November 19, 2010. Coordinate crafts, story time, face painting and hand out vouchers for South School Night at Barnes and Noble in Peabody.
Family Night(s) - CHAIR NEEDED
School Year 2010-2011. We are going to try to have a family night activity at the school as often as we can. possible events include: Ice Cream Social, Movie Night(s), Chili Cook-Off and Football Game, Fitness Night, Spelling Bee or anything you can think of.
Field Day - Mike Demayo
June 2011. Volunteers needed for field day activities: 3-4 parent volunteers per classroom for field day relay race coordination, 10-15 parent volunteers for water and slush distribution, 10-15 parent volunteers for BBQ lunch help.
5th Grade Celebration(s) and Moving On - CHAIR NEEDED
June 2011. Parents of Fifth Graders are needed to coordinate various activities throughout the school year.
Enrichment Chair - Leann Rozza and Tina Cassidy
School Year 2010-2011. The South School PTO prides itself on providing enrichment programs for our students. The Enrichment Committee books artists, authors and entertainers to come into the school for educational purposes.
Reading/Math Night - CHAIR NEEDED
November 2010. Working closely with the teachers, this committee creates a fun-filled storytelling and craft Reading Night for Grades K-2 and a Math Night featuring math games for Grades 3-5.
Father-Daughter Dance - CHAIR NEEDED
February 4, 2011. The Committee coordinates set up, clean up and refreshments creating a memorable night for dads and daughters.
Ink Jet Cartridge Program
Donate old ink cartridges to help raise money for our school. (Donations may be placed in the PTO Box located in the main office.)
School Garden
Help weed, plant and mulch to care for our flower garden out front. (spring/fall)
Holiday School Store - Leann Rozza
December 14, 2010. We need set up, break down, sales help and gift wrappers to help the children as they shop in the South School Holiday Store.
Square 1 Art - Tina Cassidy
January 2011. Working closely with Mrs. Petras to coordinate art projects that each student creates for purchase on shirts, mugs, tiles, etc.
Walk-A-Thon - Lisa Bradley
October 1, 2010. This is our BIGGEST fund raiser. last year we raised over $14,000.00! Duties include - pour water and assist student walkers. Parents may sign up for the whole event or just the time their child is walking.
